We’ve all heard by now that AOL has acquired Huffington Post, yes yes, and of course we remember the disaster that was the AOL-Time Warner merger. So while we’re hoping this new deal goes through a lot more smoothly, it behooves both AOL and HuffPo to learn from AOL’s unfortunate past so that they may avoid a similar future. Thus, over the course of the week we’ll be presenting a few of AOL’s lesser known but equally stunning disasters.

THE AOL-227 MERGER DISASTER

After nearly 5 years on the air, the hit show 227 was acquired by AOL in an aggressive take over bid. AOL then foolishly decided to shake up the show’s proven format and introduced one of its own stock characters, leading many to believe 227 had jumped the shark. A few weeks later, 227 was canceled and Maaaarrrryyy was out of work.

It’s Friday and that means we are once again offering a blatant call for traffic post. This week it’s my white husky princess, Lulu, frolicking through a recent snow fall in Harlem. Also, she’s pretending to kill her toy, which she thinks is the neighbor’s cat. I think.
