ThoughtWreck™: “Sweetheart, stop that before I ask you to stop again.”

Let’s say BP is a 6-year-old child playing on the playground with his friends. The mothers of the children sit nearby watching them play, occasionally yelling out for one of them to stop doing this or that. BP pees in the sandbox. His mother tells him to stop. He stops. Then, a few minutes later, BP pees on the slide. His mother tells him to stop and asks him why he did that. He says he didn’t mean to and won’t do it again. Then a few minutes later, BP pees on the merry-go-round, the picnic tables, in the sandbox again and on all of his friends.
