FAQ of Commenters on My “Most Annoying Couples” Post on Lemondrop

The AOL community can’t seem to get enough of me! Since my inbox is jam-packed with questions, comments and marriage proposals, I created this FAQ to let them know a little more about this thing we call Carol:

Have you considered spending time improving yourself, rather than simply bashing others?

Why are you so cynical?

Why do you have so much time on your hands?

Why are you so horrible?

Do you have a giant stick up your butt, and if so, have you considered removing it?

What do you have against Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?

Then what do you have against Scientologists?

Does my being a newlywed automatically make me annoying?

You are seriously bitter, wouldn’t you say?

Who writes this crap?

Have you tried being happy?

What is wrong with this sentence:

Apparently every couple is annoying. Noone is perfect and so what if they’re drunk and singing kareoke or whatever the hell theyre doing if it bothers you deal with it cause theyre just trying to enjoy life instead of letting every little thing bother them and everyone gets into arguements its only human. and also its ok for them to talk about their engagement or pregnancy or anything like that . it brings them joy now see if you know theyre rubbing it in your face thats different but otherwise if you feel that it annoys you off that they’re happy then…..learn to stop envying or disliking..its not mentally healthy to do that. you should be glad for people..you never know what they have been through before maybe they were in an abusive relationship n just got a decent person who treats them right and that bugs you because they are trying to have fun or they might argue so what? enjoy life and worry about your own problems…this is the most immature article i ever read. this person must have had relationship problems of her own

You seem seriously bitter. Do you need some lovin’?

Why do you get paid to write this crap?

What do you have against Olive Garden and Steak & Ale?

Are you going to be spending Valentine’s alone, in front of the TV, watching soaps on TiVo, sucking down pints of Haagen Dazs?

Have you considered spending time improving yourself, rather than simply bashing others?
Great question! Yes. But I finished improving myself about 4 years ago, so that leaves me with plenty of time to recognize the huge gaping faults in everyone else. I’m very fortunate. Not a lot of people get the time to do what they love.

Why are you so cynical?
Is wanting others to be better cynical? I don’t think so. Jesus wants us to be better. Is he cynical? I didn’t think so. Still, great question!

Why do you have so much time on your hands?
I don’t smoke pot. I know that doesn’t work for everyone, but for me it’s like having a whole extra day in my schedule.

Why are you so horrible?
You know, I’m not sure. I’ve kind of always been. That’s like asking the Sistine Chapel, “Why are you the roof of a church?” It can’t be anything other than what it is. I’m like that. But being in the same company as the Sistine Chapel…hey, I’ll take that.

Do you have a giant stick up your butt, and if so, have you considered removing it?
I hope not! LOL!

What do you have against Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?
They’re scientologists.

Then what do you have against Scientologists?
Spell check doesn’t recognize scientologist as a word, so I don’t recognize them as people.

Does my being a newlywed automatically make me annoying?
Great question! Yes! Everyone who was at your wedding thinks so, too.

You are seriously bitter, wouldn’t you say?
That started out as not a question and then turned into a question. You’re good, my friend.

Who writes this crap?
Isn’t the better question, who reads this crap? I think you know the answer to that.

Have you tried being happy?
Yes, and it’s great. I highly recommend it to anyone whose thinking of writing a poem or suicide note.

What is wrong with this paragraph:

Apparently every couple is annoying. Your elementary, middle and high school English teachers are what’s wrong with it.

You seem seriously bitter. Do you need some lovin’?
If by bitter you mean attractive woman in her 30s and by lovin‘ you mean 10 minutes in a dark room educating Daniel Radcliffe, then yes on both.

Why do you get paid to write this
crap?

I had nothing better to do…and neither did you and one million of your contemporaries.

What do you have against Olive Garden and Steak & Ale?
They’re scientologists.

Are you going to be spending Valentine’s alone, in front of the TV, watching soaps on TiVo, sucking down pints of Haagen Dazs?
I’m sending this question to the FBI. Clearly, you’ve been staring through my window every night. Or desperately trying to understand women by reading Cathy.
