I’ve been doing this drawing gig for sometime now and I’ve run the gamut – from doodling on girl’s notebooks in 7th grade – to the current clusterf***k company I now run. When I started actually making money at this life choice, I always felt dirty and guilty about self-promoting. I’m still not thrilled with the idea, but I now realize it is a necessary evil and that there’s a difference between constructive self-promotion and outright bragging.
So, with that said… LOOK WHAT I DID:
What? You don’t know who this is? Why should you, or anyone care that I drew this nerdy guy? Well, I’ll tell you why: This is my friend Jamie Lissow. He’s a very funny man who, years ago, asked me to draw some cartoons for him. The two of us have stayed in contact as our careers have grown and when Comedy Central gave him his own 1/2 hour special, he needed a stage backdrop. Naturally, he called the only cartoonist he knows.
On January 30th @ 10:30pm, you will turn your dial to Comedy Central and watch my friend Jamie throw you into hysterics. And while you sit there, buckled over with laughter, try and glance at the stage and realize that you know who the guy is what drawed that huge picture behind him.
I’m very proud of my friend and I thank him for asking me to help him out. You can catch Jamie on the radio at his brand new gig here: The Wease Show 95.1
Bragging over. Back to work.
