I hate to quibble, but actually, it's methanol that makes you blind when you drink it. Lye would make you blind if you splashed it into your eyes. DRINKING lye basically cooks your insides into a rigid, dead, tube.
But if you're dead then you can't see, right? I found a loophole to your completely factual statement, right? I did good, right? Oh god, tell me I did good!
Or I just could correct the article.
