I suppose this reconfirms what I had always heard about Tom Cruise. He has it written into his contract that on a movie set, no one is allowed to make eye contact with him. I was speaking to an online friend who lives in L.A., and she said that this behavior is fairly common.
Another friend in San Francisco and I were talking on the telephone about these so-called celebrities and their insane behaviors, and he said "...they begin to feel that they deserve god-like treatment because they guide us poor slobs through the morass that is our lives."
The next time you are taken to task for daring to eye the gorgon? Remember. He is your moral compass. ;)
