Take That, Drabble!

Shocked! Shocked I am to find that The Washington Post's resident (or at least self-appointed) humor expert Gene Weingarten chose the above "Sally Forth" as his "Comic Pick of the Week"! This almost makes up for the three years in which he more or less equated the strip with an unsuccessful bowel movement.

In the words of Peter Griffin, "Freakin' sweet!"

For more daily sharp insight on--and informative commentary about--comic strips, make sure to check out The Comics Curmudgeon. Just please, try to gloss over the five times he tears "Sally Forth" a new hole.

Five times is five too few. This comic sucks in almost every way. Sally's a snooty, snotty, and compulsive "I know people and I know everything" - the type you wished would never make it past grade school. Her coworker Marcie looks like an outcast from the 70's with that hairdoo and glasses - I think I recall that she's divorced - her hubby surely did the dumping! This comic joins the seemingly endless pantheon of strips that have people scratching their heads saying, "What the hell is this strip still doing wasting space and ink?"
